Shri Mohit Agrawal, Commissioner CGST Bhavnagar has joined this department through 2006 batch of IRS Officer. He had done his Graduation from IIT Kanpur in Electrical Engineering. He has won the Academic Excellence Award during his graduation on account of getting highest CGPA score of 10 in 4 semesters out of 8.

He received Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Award for best B. Tech Project for developing the mechanism for recognizing the emotions of the face. Before joining this department, he worked in CSEM, Zurich, Switzerland for a project aimed at testing of Automated Checking and verification of Semi-conductor chips.

After he joined the service, he started his career as Assistant Commissioner in 2006 and worked at various formations like Central Excise, Service Tax, Customs, Marine Preventive.

After being promoted to Commissioner in 2023, he worked in Director General of Taxpayer Service (DGTS) and Custom, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) prior to joining CGST Bhavnagar Commissionerate in April 2025. For academic pursuit, sir has done his LLB in First Division from Gujarat University and after that he did his LLM from Gujarat University, where he secured the top rank in whole Gujarat
university.
